They didn’t have much time to assess the situation, as another wreck involving the same truck and trailer occurred at Campbell and Custer Parkway. This incident occurred a few miles east of the first one.
According to WFAA, witnesses shared that the driver jumped out of the truck and ran away from the scene. He ran into the Canyon Creek neighborhood. Police officers blocked off Custer Park and Nantucket Drive, around the neighborhood entrance.
Traffic was disrupted as officers searched for the man and eventually found him. He was taken to the hospital due to minor injuries. No police officers were harmed and the suspect’s name hasn’t been released.
Investigators learned that the truck and trailers were taken from Lewisville earlier that day. The driver is probably facing a substantial list of charges. He stole property, caused two hit-and-run accidents, and then evaded police.
