A 62-year-old Pennsylvania woman is facing numerous charges, including making terroristic threats, after a 13-mile “low-speed” police chase. Before finally being apprehended, the woman hit police vehicles with her car a total of six times.

It all began when the owners of Reach Climbing and Fitness Facility in Bridgeport called the police at around 8:20 a.m. They reported having a confrontation with the woman and told police that she refused to leave the facility, according to a report on Patch.

When the police arrived on the scene, the woman was inside her vehicle. They ordered her to exit the vehicle, and she refused. While inside her vehicle, police said the woman called 911 to tell the dispatcher that she planned to run over the officers.

After that, police said she put her vehicle in reverse and rammed a police cruiser, then almost hit an officer as she sped away.

Police officers caught up to her when she stopped. Again, they tried to get her to exit the vehicle and attempted to force the vehicle’s doors open. She then, according to police, put her car in reverse and backed into a police cruiser for a second time. She hit a police cruiser a third time when she pulled forward and sped away yet again.

Two miles from that scene, the woman crashed into a police vehicle for a fourth time. That didn’t stop her, though. She kept on going.

When she stopped her vehicle, police officers again tried to get her to exit the vehicle. That’s when she hit a police vehicle for a fifth time, according to authorities, making a path for her escape.

After another 11 miles, following what the police called a “low-speed pursuit,” police reported that she crashed through the gates of a parking garage. There she hit two parked cars. One of the cars had been abandoned by the driver when they saw her coming, according to police.

The sixth time she hit a police vehicle was the last time

After being surrounded by police in the parking garage, the woman hit a police vehicle for a sixth time. This time, she didn’t escape. Officers were finally able to pull her from her vehicle and place her under arrest.

“Policing is an extremely difficult profession, made much more difficult when a perpetrator fails to comply, or is incapable of compliance, with the lawful order of a police officer in the line of duty,” Bridgeport Police Chief Todd Bereda said in a statement. “I am thankful that the injuries sustained to both the dutiful officer and the criminal defendant were not of a greater degree and that the citizens of Bridgeport may be just a bit safer today.”

The woman was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, fleeing an officer, and several other counts. Her bail was set at $99,000.
