Living in Tornado Alley has its pros and cons. One of the bigger issues to consider is struggling with strong winds and inclement weather. An Oklahoma man got blown off the road while towing a Dodge truck in Florida, leaving it totaled.

Wind blows Oklahoma driver off the road while towing Dodge truck

Please take a moment of silence for a semi-truck, a Nissan Titan, and a Dodge truck that were each damaged by the unforgiving winds of Oklahoma.

A 71-year-old man was driving his Nissan Titan and towing a Dodge truck while heading northbound on I-75 near mile marker 326 in Sumter County when the situation suddenly turned deadly.

A semi-truck passed him around 3:35 pm when a strong gust of wind struck. The trucker was fine, but the wind from his rig caused the driver of the Nissan Titan to lose control.

He ran off the road and jackknifed. The trailer was crushed during the accident and the back of the Titan pickup truck was mangled. It looks like the older Dodge truck fellow off the back of the trailer.

Everything came to a stop right off the side of the interstate and emergency crews quickly responded to the scene.

According to MSN, police officers confirmed that the driver didn’t sustain any injuries. He was lucky because things could have been much worse.

I would like to know a little more about the situation. For example, how fast was the Nissan driver going and how fast was the semi-truck going? Did the Nissan driver panic or was he under the influence?
