Elon Musk isn’t exactly, well, popular as of late. The Tesla CEO, DOGE head, and world’s richest man has made plenty of enemies, including the likes of a 98-year-old British WWII veteran with an understandable distaste for fascism. But this vet didn’t protest with a sign or a spray can. No, he figured an M4 Sherman Tank and an ill-fated Tesla Model 3 were a better demonstration. 

A battle-hardened WWII vet has no love for Elon Musk, as evidenced by him crushing a Tesla Model 3 with a Sherman Tank

At a glance, you might think Ken Turner looks a bit old to be climbing around on tanks. Well, you’d be wrong. Turner is a veteran and survivor of the Second World War, a person all too familiar with a tank. “My name is Ken Turner, and I’m 98 years old. I served in the British Army in WWII,” the olive drab-clad veteran said in a “Led by Donkeys” protest video. 

Turner stood next to a 33-ton M4 Sherman Tank with a 76mm main gun, a staple of WWII. “As did this Sherman Tank,” he said as he slapped the historic beast on its metal side. But this Sherman was coming out of retirement to help Turner spread his message of protest. And that message would spell disaster for a little blue Tesla Model 3. 

“I’m old enough to have seen fascism the first time around. Now it’s coming back. Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, is using his immense power to support the far right in Europe,” Turner said. “His money comes from Tesla cars,” the nearly 100-year-old said in the video. “Well, I’ve got this message for Mr. Musk. We’ve crushed fascism before, and we’ll crush it again. So let’s go, shall we? Let’s go.”

Turner descended into the assistant driver’s seat. The tank lined up on a British dirt path facing a dark blue Tesla Model 3. It’s UK number plates read “FASCISM.” At least, they did before Turner got to them. The M4 Sherman lurched forward and crawled over the Model 3. Even with a segment-leading roof strength score from the IIHS, the Tesla didn’t stand a chance. Check out the video below!
