Watch these firework-shooting drivers nearly light a car on fire while sliding in the snow
People do stupid things. Especially when fireworks are involved. You don’t often see, however, cars and fireworks come together for a dose of stupidity. Of course, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. After all, given no supervision and fireworks, chaos ensues. A popular social media captured two cars driving on a wooded road and a firework shot so accurately that it nearly lit a car on fire.
A passenger video captured a vehicle threading fireworks right through a car window and nearly causing the car to light on fire
Ask any first responder or emergency room medical professional. Fireworks and drunk people are a volatile mix. Every year, inebriated folks stumble into ERs nationwide with burns or missing fingers due to fireworks shenanigans. However, it’s not just holding that backyard firework too long. Sometimes it’s silly vehicle-borne adults blasting fireworks at other vehicles.
A video with around 120,000 likes captured a vehicle chasing another car down a dark, snow-covered road. Granted, this case appears to be a silly exchange in Eastern Europe or Russia, not the United States. The lead vehicle slides back and forth in a serpentine fashion. However, the lead car’s side-to-side movements weren’t enough to obscure it from its pursuer.
The video shows the perspective of the pursuer. Moments into the footage, a firework flies from the left-hand side of the chase vehicle. The bright-red missile finds its target, namely an open window on the left side of the lead car.
A moment later, the little flare pops in a brilliant shower of sparks and smoke. For a brief instant, the firework appears to light the car on fire. Fortunately, the lights dissipate and the lead car continues to drive, leaving a trail of smoke as it does.
Now, even as a silly bit of fun, it could have been much worse than a viral video. An exploding firework could have injured the driver or a passenger, lit the car on fire, or caused a violent crash. However, commenters had fun likening the event to the PlayStation game franchise-turned Peacock streaming series, “Twisted Metal.”
