[Video] Biker gets arrested for wheelie, pulls out a beer on camera in the police car
A wheelie is a quick way for a motorcycle rider to get some negative attention from law enforcement. However, pulling out a beer in a police car after the fact might just be a new level of lunacy.
A social media video shows a biker defiantly pulling out a beer in a cop car after a huge wheelie
The video with nearly 1.2 million views starts with a young motorcycle rider riding in the back of a patrol car. He doesn’t seem scared or remorseful, no. Quite the opposite. In fact, he pulled out his phone and started recording. Staged or not, it made for some pretty hilarious content.
“They got me for doing the biggest wheelie this town has ever seen!” he said on the video. Understandably, one of the police officers up front expressed confusion. “Hey, who are you talking to?”
“My phone,” the biker responded nonchalantly. It was at this point that the officers likely realized they had messed up. “You have your phone?!” “Yeah, you didn’t check my pockets,” he replied.
But then the wheelie suspect took things to the next level. “I have a beer, too!” he said as he pulled a lone can of beer from his pocket. The video ends with the familiar sound of an aluminum can opening up. No handcuffs here, just a beer and a silly signoff.
It does seem as though viewers had no difficulty believing that the young biker has some experience riding in the back of a squad car. “Local police are probably on a first-name basis with this dude,” one commenter posted. Other viewers lamented not getting the opportunity to see the wheelie that landed the biker in hot water. “Sure would love to see the wheelie that got bro arrested,” one commenter posted. As reprehensible as the overuse of “bro” is, we’d love to see it, too.
But wait, is a wheelie really illegal? Great question! Even at road-safe speeds, police officers will likely show you the berries and cherries after they see you popping your front tire off the ground. More often than not, they’ll consider your intentional wheelie to be careless operation or reckless driving.
