“It’s not every day you pull over a prototype Aston Martin burning up the road,” the Emery County Sheriff’s Office in Utah said on Thursday. Which is true. Because it is certainly not every day that you even get to see a $1 million Aston Martin Valhalla supercar prototype, let alone pull one over.

“This 1.5 million dollar car was called in for reckless driving and stopped by ECSO Deputy Dylan Keele and UHP Trooper Dakota Adams on I-70 near Green River, UT,” the Emery County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook, perhaps slightly exaggerating the value of the supercar.

Most estimates place the cost of an Aston Martin Valhalla at $800,000 to $1.1 million. Regardless, it’s an expensive vehicle. And if it really is a prototype, it could be worth $1.5 million.

“The vehicle was being tested and adjusted while driving through our area,” the ESCO’s Facebook post continued. “Deputy Keele was able to instruct the driver on proper driving etiquette and take care of some business. It was a fun experience for the cops.”

What exactly is an Aston Martin Valhalla supercar prototype?

According to Aston Martin, the Valhalla is the company’s “first-ever mid-engine PHEV supercar, with true hypercar performance.”

Aston Martin goes on to explain that it is inspired by their Valkyrie supercar and is “infused with Formula 1 technologies.” Only 999 of them are planned to be produced.

The Valhalla boasts 1,064 horsepower. That, combined with downforce exceeding 600kg, means it can reach a top speed of 217 mph. Pretty sure the one that was pulled over in Utah wasn’t going quite that fast.

Reactions to the police pulling over the driver of a million-dollar supercar prototype

“A professional driver in a prototype hypercar. You pulled him over because he let you,” one person commented on the ESCO Facebook post.

“Alright, I’ll give you a warning this time, but only if I get to drive it,” someone else joked, while another person wrote, “Did you thank him for pulling over?”

“That’s my excuse next time I get pulled over, my vehicle is being tested,” read another comment.
