Despite being the most popular SUV, the Toyota RAV4 isn’t the most loved model in the Toyota lineup. On the list of most-loved cars, Toyota options take the top five spots. See what drivers love more than the RAV4.

The Toyota RAV4 isn’t the brand’s most-loved car

According to iSeeCars, the top five cars that drivers love the most are the Toyota Highlander Hybrid, Toyota Camry Hybrid, Toyota Highlander, Toyota Tacoma, and Toyota Prius.

Notice how the Toyota RAV4 didn’t make the top five. It’s also behind the Honda CR-V, which is in sixth place, and the Ford Escape Hybrid in seventh place.

The RAV4 landed in eighth place. Also, the list only includes the 13 cars that people love the most. The RAV4 Hybrid didn’t make it in the top 13.

To determine the most loved cars, iSeeCars analyzed over 989,000 cars from model years 1981 – 2009 that were soldbetween January and September 2024. This provided data on which older cars are the most likely to be kept by their original owners.

Average drivers typically keep a car for eight years. But people have kept the models on this list for over 15 years. People keep the most loved cars for double the average.

iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer shared that most drivers can’t commit to a single vehicle for over a decade. But those who do save money on vehicle costs.

Keeping your car for over 15 years means not having a loan payment for most of that time. Plus, registration and insurance costs drop over time.

Those reduced expenses can counter higher maintenance costs as the car ages, especially in durable models that hold up well over time.

Well, what a coincidence that the top five most loved vehicles are also reliable. They’re extremely likely to reach or surpass 250,000 miles during their lifetime.

It seems like the RAV4 has some work to do if it wants to move up in the rankings. It could be more comfortable, athletic, refined, and reliable.
