RAV4
The Toyota RAV4, also known as the Toyota Vanguard and Toyota Wildlander overseas, is a compact SUV model produced and sold by the Toyota Motor Corporation. Sized and priced between the Toyota C-HR and the Toyota Highlander, the RAV4 is one of the top-rated and best-selling crossovers SUVs in the world.
The first generation of the Toyota RAV4 launched in Japan in 1994, debuting in the U.S. a couple of years later in early 1996. Then, in 1997, a Toyota RAV4 EV model was created for fleet use and limited public sale in California, with less than 1,500 units sold.
Currently in its fifth generation, which first started with the 2018 model year, the Toyota RAV4 is more successful than ever. The RAV4 is also available as the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and the Toyota RAV4 Prime, a PHEV, in the American automotive market. However, we’re still waiting on the rebirth of the Toyota RAV4 EV from back in the day. The current top competitors of the RAV4 include the Ford Escape, the Honda CR-V, the Mazda CX-5, the Subaru Forester, and the Volkswagen Tiguan.
