Bright, motion-activated flood lights and an obvious security camera setup are usually enough to deter those with bad intentions. Well, a Texas vandal was caught in high-resolution waltzing up to a parked Toyota 4Runner, breaking a window, splashing a liquid presumed to be gasoline, lighting it, and running away.

Obviously, the bright lights and cameras weren’t enough to keep him from damaging someone else’s property.

As the flames grew higher, the man hopped into a car parked in the neighbor’s driveway. The two slowly drove away, seemingly unbothered by what they’d just done.

The vehicle’s owner claims they don’t know the man responsible, or anyone who would do that. There’s no word on how badly damaged the 4Runner is, but it’s likely in bad shape. The owner wants to find the person so badly, they’re offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who helps find the vandal, according to KPRC.

Viewers think both parties need to be held accountable

Most of the outlet’s viewers were stunned that people could do something like that. Especially within view of all those high-definition security cameras.

Others say both drivers should face criminal charges.

“The person got in the passenger’s side of the car, so they should also arrest the driver,” they wrote.

Someone else assumed the vandal recognized the car.

“Must have been a bar fight, and they followed the car home,” their comment read.

Another pointed out there must have been a story the 4Runner’s owner isn’t telling the media.

“I wonder what the ‘victim’ did to make them mad like that,” they asked.
