A driver is happy that he didn’t drown as his Tesla Model 3 went rogue. The former SpaceX engineer shares that the self-driving mode had the EV accelerating directly towards a lake. This is your reminder to stay alert while operating in full self-driving mode.

Tesla Model 3 nearly sends former SpaceX engineer into lake

Please pay attention to your car during any type of self-driving mode. A former SpaceX engineer shared dashboard footage of his Tesla Model 3 going rogue as it nearly sends him into a lake.

The footage shows the electric car suddenly taking a right turn toward a large body of water. It continues forward until he finally takes over. Daniel Milligan shares, “My Tesla tried to drive me into a lake!”

This incident occurred just as the full self-driving vehicle model 14.2.2.4 just got an expanded rollout last month. Miligan tried to repeat the event the next day, but his EV skipped the boat ramp. Perhaps the car has better visibility in the daylight.

According to Daily Dot, this is only a minor incident compared to other Model 3 self-driving accidents. For example, a Model 3 suddenly ran off the road in Alabama and flipped. Another model suddenly crossed into oncoming traffic, causing a head-on collision.

Commenters share that self-driving modes just aren’t ready yet. They think that Elon Musk is going to get people killed.

One X user jokingly shared that you could buy or rent a Tesla for your spouse and enable the FSD near a cliff or lake to kill them. Then you can blame the FSD.
