Being a tow truck driver might be riskier than you think. Who is happy about having their car repossessed or taken off due to a parking violation? It makes drivers a little emotional. One Tennessee woman robbed a tow truck driver at gunpoint to get her SUV back.

The Memphis Police Department shared that 27-year-old Kelsey Green has been charged with aggravated robbery. She robbed a tow truck driver that was trying to tow her SUV.

According to Action News 5, an employee of a towing company called police around 7 pm after attempting to tow a 2018 GMC Terrain from Sutton at Shelby on Chancery Street.

He was outside taking photos while in the process of lifting the GMC Terrain when a woman with a gun jumped into the driver’s seat of the Dodge Ram 5500.

The woman demanded that the tow truck driver back away from the vehicle. He held his hands up and slowly backed away.

Then she used the truck to lower the Terrain and drove off. Another woman got in the Terrain and drove off in another direction.

The lady in the tow truck left it at the entrance of the apartment complex. She then jumped in the Terrain as it drove off again.

Unfortunately, for the criminals, the entire incident was captured by the apartment complex surveillance cameras. It was also caught on an in-car camera that was installed in the tow truck.

Green, the registered owner of the GMC Terrain, was later identified in a six-person lineup and is being held on a bond of $75,000.

It’s unclear why the SUV was being towed. Also, Green’s accomplice remains at large. I’m no expert, but the other woman could be charged with accessory to crime. She participated in the incident!
