e-class
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is an executive car/full-size sedan model produced and sold by Mercedes-Benz, a subsidiary of the Daimler AG multinational automotive corporation. Within the Mercedes-Benz vehicle catalog of sedan models, the E-Class is sized and priced above the Mercedes-Benz C-Class compact executive car and below the Mercedes-Benz S-Class full-size luxury sedan.
Originally produced under Daimler-Benz, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class took inspiration from many retired Mercedes executive cars and was a direct successor to the W124 model, which started production in 1984. The first time the E-Class name and badging appeared was on a facelifted Mercedes-Benz W124 model in 1993, and the new name stuck around after the model’s second generation debut in 1995.
Now in its fifth generation, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been offered in many variants over the years, most notably as a convertible, a coupe, and a wagon. The current competition of luxury cars that the E-Class faces includes the Audi A6, the BMW 5-Series, the Jaguar XF, the Porsche Panamera, and the Volvo S90.
