According to Mercedes-Benz, the E-Class climbed the ranks to become the best-selling model series in the entire lineup to date. With a refresh for the 2021 model year, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is better than ever. The Edmunds award for the Top Rated New Luxury Sedan focuses on the refined luxury experience each model lends.

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan receives a fresh sport-inspired design. Standard AMG body styling compliments this modern luxury sedan. The interior is quite contemporary and the “revolutionary” infotainment system and a capacitive steering wheel bring innovative technology right into the plush cabin.

There are new options for electrified engines that offer 48-volt technology. In addition, every bit of current driver assistance and safety technology is baked into the 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Mercedes-Benz claims that the new E-Class sedan is “more efficient than ever and continues to set the benchmark for intelligence within in its segment.”

The Edmunds Top Rated New Luxury Sedan

Last year, Edmunds awarded the Top Rated New Luxury Sedan award to the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. This year, the luxury brand keeps it up with another win. The 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class brings new updates to its legendary lineup.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class ticks all the luxury sedan boxes. In fact, it offers a pleasurable driving experience with a refined interior. “Sophisticated technology” sends the new E-Class toward the future of upscale models.

What is the best E-Class model?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class has four models to choose from. In addition, some models offer a coupe or convertible version for those who wish to think outside the sedan box. Starting prices range from $52,450 – $73,900. Due to the fact that the range caters to varying budgets and priorities, the choice isn’t exactly simple.

There’s the entry-level E 350 and its step-up E 450 model. After that, there are two AMG model options as well. The AMG E 53 model offers a standard all-wheel-drive system with a sport-tuned suspension.

If a V8 engine is your flavor and you have money to spend, you’ll want to spring for the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG E 63. This is the E-Class range-topper and it’s equipped with virtually anything you could ask for in a luxury speed-demon sedan. But which one is best?

The folks at Edmunds suggest going with the E 450 4Matic. With this choice, you’ll get a cushy cabin a good performance. The E-Class is the Top Rated New Luxury Sedan, so it’s sure to please in all trim levels. However, for not much more than the E 350 4Matic it gets standard all-wheel drive and the new 6-cylinder that works together with a mild hybrid system that gives drivers “smooth power and improved fuel economy.”
