This driver is likely pretty pleased to have a dash cam on days like this one. At first, he thought he was getting carjacked or attacked by ill-meaning criminals. However, moments later, his surprise and fear turns to shock when the white Chevrolet SUV  soars around him and crashes into multiple vehicles at an intersection at some serious speed.

A white Chevrolet SUV had a driver scared for his life

“Oh my God!” Those were the words of a driver when he noticed a third-generation Chevrolet Tahoe screeching its tires to keep up with him through a corner. The rear camera captured it all. A Tahoe, primarily white with a mismatched fender, leans heavily into the turn, returning the sounds of tortured tires as it did. At first, the driver in the camera car thought he was in trouble.

“I thought this person was chasing me,” the TikTok user Randy Malone (@malonedrome) wrote in a post alongside his TikTok video. And, at times, it certainly seemed that way. The Chevrolet SUV sped around multiple cars as it followed the camera vehicle. Then, at speeds over 50 mph, the partially-white Chevrolet Tahoe went flying right past Malone, quelling his fears that the other driver was following him.

Things look bleak after the Tahoe crashes into multiple cars at an intersection

Unfortunately, the motorist in the Chevrolet SUV was far from finished with his wild drive. Seconds after the Tahoe passes Malone, the SUV crashes right into a lineup of vehicles in two different lanes. Malone says the Tahoe driver was the only person injured in the crash.

“I found out later that the driver had hit a parked car before this video. He was airlifted to a trauma center and barely survived,” Malone posted on TikTok. “I sent my info and the footage to the police, but they never contacted me. Nobody else was hurt, thankfully, but there were several close calls.” If that’s true, the motorists at the intersection are quite lucky.

After all, a third-generation Chevrolet Tahoe on the all-wheel drive (AWD) platform can weigh over 5,500 lbs. Worryingly, the Tahoe’s brake lights didn’t illuminate until it had already crashed into the first car. So, 5,500 lbs at around 50 mph is a lot of mass and speed to stop.

7/06/2024 – Driver intentionally crashes into intersection. I thought this person was chasing me, but then passes me and just rams cars at a stop light without braking. I first saw him while making a right and it freaked me out becsuse this is close to my house, i thought he knew who i was. Turns out he just wanted to hit some cars. I found out later that the driver had hit a parked car before this video. The driver wrapped his car around a tree. He was airlifted to a trauma center and barely survived. It is not known if the cops charged him. I sent my info and the footage to the police but they never contacted me. Nobody else was hurt, thankfully, but there were several close calls. #crash #carcrash #sandiegolife #dui #driving #cops #dashcam
