Nevada Man Steals Construction Loader and Runs Over Police Cars
It’s unclear what Juan Rincon Carreno’s master plan was when he stole an old front loader from a construction site. When police officers arrived to confront him, his new plan appeared to be running them over.
The incident happened in Henderson, Nevada. The 33-year-old rammed two patrol vehicles. He injured officers and wedged their cars beneath the massive loader.
Police stop the rampage
Nevada police did not take kindly to Carreno “forklifting around and finding out.” Officers drew their weapons and shot Carreno in an arm and a leg to stop him.
A bizarre series of choices turned Carreno into a suspect. An old Kawasaki front loader is not a practical getaway vehicle. It also takes training and experience to operate heavy equipment. Even if Carreno was not currently employed as an operator, he clearly had marketable skills.
Authorities say neither Carreno nor the officers suffered life-threatening injuries.
