Please honor a moment of silence for thousands of beer cans who lost their lives in a semi-truck crash. A trucker in Illinois was hauling a load of Anheuser-Busch products when he suddenly lost control and flipped over. Beer cans cluttered the interstate for hours.

Semi-truck loaded with beer flips in Illinois.

Police officers in Illinois shared that parts of Interstate 55 remain partially closed after a semi-truck loaded with beer flipped over in Bolingbrook.

State troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash near mile maker 268 around 11 am. It involved a tractor-trailor carrying Anheuser-Busch products.

Beer cans covered the road. Can you imagine how loud it was as hundreds of cans and glass bottles pelted the pavement? I wonder what it smelled like as all of the liquids baked in the sun. Also, did the clean-up crews get to keep any of the cans that they had to pick up?

Anyways, unfortunately, the trucker was taken to a local hospital to be treated for unspecified injuries. I hope recovers quickly.

According to NBC Chicago, traffic was backed up for hours. All northbound lanes were temporarily boxed. The shoulder of the roadway on the southbound side of the highway has been closed due to a downed light pole.

Along with removing two cars and the mangled tractor-trailer, crews spent hours cleaning beer bottles, broken glass, and other debris. Local firefighters and police officers worked together to ensure safety and to keep drivers moving.

I’m assuming that everyone involved, especially the semi-truck driver, was ready to sit down and have a beer after the long day they faced.
