Suddenly, the cheapest Subaru SUV doesn’t exactly feel cheap. The 2026 Subaru Impreza got slapped with a hefty price hike. The entry-level trim was dropped, forcing drivers to pony up more than an extra $2,000.

How much does the 2026 Subaru Impreza cost?

The 2026 Subaru Impreza starts with an MSRP of $26,565. Meanwhile, the MSRP for the 2025 Impreza is only $23,495. So, it has a year-over-year price increase of $3,070. Plus, the 2026 Impreza has a $1,195 destination fee, which increases the starting cost to $27,760.

The uptick in price is due to the base model being dropped. Drivers are left with the Sport and RS trim levels, which do offer more standard features. AWD is standard across the lineup.

Other changes for 2026 include the introduction of Citron Yellow Pearl premium paint and black rear badging. An 11.6-inch infotainment system is standard along with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

According to Subaru, the Impreza Sport comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that provides 152 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque. The Impreza RS has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 182 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque.

The engines are paired with a Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Also, the available steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters have an eight-speed manual mode.

EyeSight Driver Assist Technology is standard with emergency lane keep assist, with blind spot detection, and rear cross traffic alert. The blind-spot feature assists with steering control to avoid merging accidents at speeds between 37 and 90 mph.

You can expect 2026 Impreza SUVs to arrive at Subaru dealerships in the fall.
