Police recently arrested a man after a chase, during which the suspect threw a “large amount of cash” from his moving vehicle. The police later arrested the driver on suspicion of money laundering.

The pursuit began when officers from Lancashire Police’s Road Crime Team attempted to stop a black Skoda Kodiaq on the M58 in the United Kingdom. According to reports, at around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, when the officers attempted the traffic stop, the driver of the Kodiaq failed to stop.

The pursuit left the motorway, and the suspect then drove onto a residential road at a high rate of speed.

“Whilst following the car, the driver threw a large amount of cash from the window, then took a last-minute exit at Junction 3 at high speed,” LancsLive reported Lancashire Police stated on Facebook.

“After officers requested the driver to stop, this was not followed, and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended on Rainford Road in the Ormskirk area, and the driver, a 49-year-old man from Liverpool, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, and money laundering.

“Subsequent searches recovered large amounts of cash and items believed to be of high value. He has since been bailed whilst our enquiries continue.”
