A piece of the Eleanor Mustang from ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’ is for sale, but it’ll cost you at least $5,000

The little part inspired the line, 'It’s just a scratch, Eleanor. It can be fixed.'

When movie-goers saw the original “Gone in 60 Seconds” in 1974, it shattered conceptions of film car chases. 26 years later, Touchstone Pictures reimagined the film with Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie. It was an instant classic for car fans, especially the scenes featuring Eleanor, a temperamental and effortlessly cool 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Today, a little piece of a screen-used Eleanor is for sale. But getting your hands on it will cost you.

Car movie royalty is for sale, but the little piece of the iconic Eleanor Shelby Mustang from ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’ will cost you

If you’re unfamiliar with the premise of the 2000 film, Randall “Memphis” Raines (Cage) comes out of retirement to save his brother’s life. His mission? Steal 50 eye-popping cars in one night, strictly adhering to a list as he does.

And what should be the last car on the list? None other than the gray-and-black 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Raines calls the car “Eleanor,” based on his history of bad luck stealing that particular car. Now, a piece of Eleanor is for sale, and it’s going for no less than $5,000 after the “Buyer’s Premium.”

The part is a passenger-side mirror used in the movie. Per the listing, “This is to certify that this side mirror was used on a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback during the production of the 2000 movie Gone in 60 Seconds, built by Cinema Vehicle Services in North Hollywood, CA.”

The little mirror got some noteworthy screen time

A wing mirror. Who cares, right? Well, if you’re a big fan of the movie, you’ve been looking at this mirror for years.

In the film, Raines accidentally damages the Eleanor Mustang, prompting the car to start “acting up.” That little oopsie was knocking this very side mirror loose. The mirror even provokes one of the more memorable lines of the movie: “It’s just a scratch, Eleanor. It can be fixed.”

Check out the auction listing here. The listing is on the Heritage Auctions site, an auction house specializing in collectibles of just about every conceivable variety. But be warned, super fans: the auction ends today.
