People in Ohio were in for a once-in-a-lifetime event, seeing a truck fly through the air! A pickup was sent flying as it was hit by a train. The bad timing of the breakdown snarled traffic for hours just in time for rush hour.

Train wreck sends a truck flying in Ohio

People never heard anything like the sound of a train slamming into a truck before. But things escalated quickly in Ohio for one unlucky man. His pickup broke down as it was crossing over train tracks.

Around 5:47 PM at the 1200 block of Fletcher Pike in Clark County, reports of an accident flooded the airways. People told police officers that it was the loudest thing they ever heard.

One caller told dispatchers, “It smoked his truck. We were down the road, and heard the train hit something and looked back to see the truck flying through the air.”

According to Eagle Dayton, the incident closed the road for several hours, and traffic was detoured. Luckily, there aren’t many houses in the area. Also, no one was injured.

An Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper shared that once the man knew his pickup wouldn’t start, he ran. The driver managed to get away from the vehicle before the train slammed into it. The conductor wasn’t injured either.

An emergency response team still rushed to the scene. Both the train and the vehicle were damaged. Also, the train was hauling cargo freight. An ongoing investigation is being conducted.

However, it seems like you can blame the accident on bad timing. The pickup happened to die a moment or two before the train came barreling down the tracks.
