A 55-year-old driver who fainted behind the wheel is lucky to have suffered only non-life-threatening injuries. Shocking CCTV footage shows the driver’s Mercedes flying over two vehicles and just missing a bus.

The driver of the car reportedly suffered a severe diabetic episode, suffering dangerously low blood sugar, and passed out while driving. The Mercedes not only barely missed hitting three vehicles but also a road camera.

The car only came to rest when it smashed into a metal pole just a few yards from a gas station. Residents in nearby apartment buildings reported hearing a “thunderous crash” when the car hit the pole.

Emergency personnel reportedly responded to the scene to assist the driver of the crashed Mercedes. The driver was then transferred to the hospital with multiple fractures but no life-threatening injuries.

Making matters worse, the driver was reportedly fined and lost their license

Police reported that the Mercedes entered the roundabout in the wrong direction, striking the central island and lifting it off the ground. The driver had their license suspended and was fined 1,600 Romanian lei (about $350).

According to Euro Weekly News, the shocking accident occurred in the city of Oradea, Romania, on Dec. 3. The mind-bending CCTV footage has since gone viral worldwide.
