Massachusetts man has car stolen during Super Bowl
A man named Marc Lewis made the journey from Massachusetts to San Jose to go to the Super Bowl. Before the event, he filmed city streets and traffic to proclaim his love for the Bay Area.
He shared that the city is cool. It’s laid back but fun at the same time. Plus, it has a more colorful Latino flair to enjoy. It went viral, but he was the victim of a crime and shares that his love for the area is fading.
After the Super Bowl and a devastating loss for his team, the New England Patriots, his rental car was missing. He immediately tried to figure out where a tow truck took it from Saint James park.
However, commenters following his story shared that it was stolen. After calling the San Jose Police Department, Lewis shared that the commenters were correct.
A local lawyer reached out to help him, and the police department is investigating the incident. According to KRON 4, Lewis appreciates the support he’s received and plans to return to the city in the future.
Perhaps having a vehicle stolen is less personal if it’s only a rental. But he could be held liable based on negligence and insurance coverage. Theft is typically covered by the rental company if you buy the Collision Damage Waiver or Loss Damage Waiver.
