Virginia man tries to retrieve truck from jail and ends up arrested
Police officers in Virginia thought it was weird when a man entered the Storey County Detention Facility parking lot with a red truck and asked to leave it there. The man claimed that the Chevy Silverado broke down, and a tow truck was on the way to get it.
However, the Silverado stayed empty for days, making officers wonder if anyone was ever coming to get it. Deputies called a tow truck and performed a tow inventory.
Police officers found a firearm, drug paraphernalia, and a white powdery substance in a small baggie. According to Carson Now, this is when the man returned to the jail with a friend to get his ride.
It didn’t take long for officers to detain and arrest him for possession of a controlled substance. Upon searching him, they found three more baggies of a white powdery substance.
The poor man then took a walk of shame across the parking lot from his truck to the detention facility. He was booked on possession of a schedule 1 controlled substance, less than 14 g, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police officers shared that you shouldn’t bring illegal substances into Storey County, and most certainly not to the detention facility parking lot.
