The typical American driver will stop when they hear police sirens and see the “berries and cherries” in their rearview mirror. However, not every driver is inclined to stop for the cops. Worse yet, a California man decided the way to end his group’s LA crime spree was to hide in some nearby bushes and then pretend like nothing happened when the police came around.

An LA crime adventure came to an end after three men ditched their SUV and one hid in the bushes following a police pursuit

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department engaged in a high-speed chase with a white SUV. Law enforcement reportedly wanted the operator for possibly driving under the influence (DUI) and reckless driving.

However, the occupants of the SUV refused to relent. They led police on a chase from San Gabriel Valley to Santa Monica, a chase that spanned much of the county. The SUV sped away from cops, dodging traffic on highways and surface streets in the process.

Around six minutes into coverage of the chase, the commentators begin speculating wildly as the white SUV comes to a halt on the right side of the road. The suspects flung their doors open and emerged from the vehicle, leaving it with open doors and illuminated headlights.

All three occupants took off on foot in the same direction, turning corners as they did. Soon after ditching the SUV, the suspects turned into an alley and then a row of covered parking spots. However, only two offenders emerged from the covered spots. The leader of the group wandered back and forth, with the second offender following close behind.

The police pursuit takes an odd, desperate turn when one of the suspects attempts to give the LAPD the slip by hiding in the bushes. That person didn’t stay there for long though; he quickly decided that the bushes were not the best countermeasure for the pursuing law enforcement. He continued down the sidewalk, walking as if he wasn’t one of the subjects of a county-wide high-speed chase.

Shortly after, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department officers cornered the suspect with emergency lights. They arrested two of the pursuit suspects on live TV. Check out the FOX 11 coverage of the chase below!
