Dear Kia drivers, you’ve been put on notice for dangerous habits
Judging other drivers is a trend that feels like it has been around since the dawn of time. Stereotypes like BMW drivers not knowing what a turn signal may exist forever. But there’s a surprising new typecast about Kia drivers being super dangerous!
Kia drivers have a reputation for being too dangerous.
I’ve enjoyed watching Kia turn its reputation around during the past few years. It’s grown from being a cheap brand to a high quality automaker with true winning SUVs like the Telluride and Sportage.
However, according to Money Super Market, Kia drivers are seen as being dangerous. This is new information to me! It’s a worldwide phenomenon, though.
The company performed an international study, including 5,000 drivers in 20 countries, to determine global stereotypes. Data was collected in August 2025.
Results determine that people consider Kia drivers to be the second most dangerous people on the road. BMW drivers are considered to be the most dangerous motorists, but I think that’s more commonly known.
Roughly 27% of participants think that Kia models are operated too slowly. Driving under the speed limit can be extremely dangerous. However, Kia cars and SUVs might be driven faster than you think.
Kia owners make up 2.2% of speeding offenses declared by record. It ranks in the top 15 brands of drivers who have a lead foot.
To make matters worse, 27% of responses claim that Kia is an uncool brand. It ranks in second place for being the most uncool. Tesla is the least coolest brand at 31%.
But what really is uncool is unsafe driving habits! Follow speed limits and other traffic laws.
