Jeep wants a Hollywood Star, and 2025 is a clear indication
James Bond and Aston Martin. Dominic Toretto and a Dodge Charger. Franchises often pair off their heroes with automotive counterparts, and boom: a silver screen relationship is born. Now, it seems that Jeep is wiggling its way into the biggest flicks of 2025. Maybe the Stellantis brand wants a Hollywood star of its own.
From the ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ press tour to ‘Mission: Impossible,’ Jeep is on the move in Hollywood
Sure, Jeep doesn’t have a movie franchise connection quite like James Bond and Aston Martin. But the automaker does have a deep-seated relationship with another fan favorite: “Jurassic Park.” And if a recent press tour is any indication, the Stellantis make will feature yet again in this year’s “Jurassic World Rebirth.”
Scarlett Johansson, star of the upcoming movie, just appeared on Jeep’s Instagram page hanging out of one of the brand’s off-roaders. Under the smiling actor, a large decal reads “Jurassic World Rebirth.” So, like past Jurassic titles, we expect to see a Wrangler or Gladiator smashing around the island with a T-Rex in tow.
And why shouldn’t it? Those iconic Wrangler YJs made their first franchise appearance over 30 years ago in the original “Jurassic Park.” Feel old yet? In the most recent release, “Jurassic World Dominion,” the protagonists narrowly escape disaster with much newer Jeeps. The brand even commemorated the partnership with a TV ad featuring a Carnotaurus.
If that wasn’t enough, the Wrangler also drove onto the big screen with the latest “Mission: Impossible” film. I know, Tom Cruise and his beloved action franchise are often associated with BMW. But that didn’t stop Cruise’s character, Ethan Hunt, from getting behind the wheel of a Wrangler for “Mission: Impossible- Final Reckoning.”
That said, the Wrangler didn’t get BMW-levels of screen time in “Mission: Impossible- Final Reckoning.” All in all, the popular off-roader was only on screen for a moment. Still, Jeep found the partnership warranted a commercial wherein two car buyers drop in from the roof à la the first “Mission: Impossible” movie.
