The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department shared that a traffic stop led to the arrest of a valet for allegedly stealing the SUV from a hotel guest.
43-year-old Aurther L. Jackson III was pulled over during the night. Police officers stopped the SUV for speeding, then learned that it was reported stolen.
According to Fox 2 Now, officers learned that Jackson was working earlier that night as a valet at the hotel. So, he had access to the guest’s car keys.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Jackson with stealing a motor vehicle. He was released on a personal recognizance bond, with stipulations that he makes weekly call-ins before trial. Also, Jackson isn’t allowed to drive any vehicles.
While thou shall not steal, perhaps Jackson wouldn’t be in this situation if he wasn’t driving the SUV like he stole it. It’s unclear which SUV trim he stole, but I understand the temptation.
