FSU football player was shot in the head while driving his car, of all things
Florida State University linebacker Ethan Pritchard was recently the victim of a shooting in Tallahassee, Florida. But some of the latest details confirm he wasn’t in the heat of an argument or even on foot at the time. Instead, the FSU football player was driving his aunt from a family gathering when wayward gunfire struck him in the back of the head.
FSU football player Ethan Pritchard was reportedly shot in the back of the head while driving his car
Earl Pritchard, the father of Florida State University football player Ethan Pritchard, recently commented on his son’s baffling and tragic injury. According to Ethan’s father, the FSU football player was struck by gunfire while driving a car.
“He was actually in the car taking my sister around the corner to her daughter’s house to drop her off,” Earl told WFTV 9. “They turned the corner, and as soon as they turned the corner, they heard gunshots.”
Ethan was reportedly driving away from a family gathering when the gunfire impacted his vehicle from behind. At least one of the gunshots hit the young FSU football player in the back of the head. The gunshot resulted in a traumatic injury and swelling. Swelling that, unfortunately, made it difficult for medical teams to evaluate the damage from the wound.
Unfortunately, this sort of thing isn’t unheard of. According to Everytown Research & Policy, 118 drivers and passengers died on American roads due to road rage-related shootings in 2023. It should be said, however, that Everytown is itself an organization seeking to “keep guns out of the wrong hands.”
However, the details behind why the gunshots were directed at Pritchard are unclear. That, or what sort of vehicle he was driving at the time of the shooting. MotorBiscuit will update this article as more information becomes available.
