The Ford F-150 is one of the longest-lasting trucks

If you want one of the longest-lasting pickup trucks, you might be happy with the Ford F-150. According to iSeeCars.com, the Ford F-150 is number five on the list of the top 11 long-lasting pickup trucks. 2.4% of Ford F-150 pickup trucks are still on the road at 200,000 miles. That might not sound like a lot to you, but when you consider that typically only 1% of a vehicle model will make it to 200,000 miles, 2.4% is pretty good.

This certainly must contribute to the Ford F-150’s best-selling status. iSeeCars.com writes, ““The Ford F-150 has been America’s most-popular vehicle for over 40 years, and its popularity with consumers and fleet buyers is a testament to its reliability and longevity.”

Ford is one of the best car brands in terms of lasting a long time

Another thing that Ford has going for it is its reputation as being one of the car brands that lasts a long time. Ford ranks number five on iSeeCars.com list of the top car brands for lasting a long time. The only car manufacturers that rank before it are Toyota, Honda, GMC, and Chevrolet. Ford vehicles overall get to 200,000 miles 1.5% of the time, compared to 1.5% for all brands in general. For comparison, Toyota vehicles get to 200,000 miles 2.3% of the time.

Perhaps noticably is the number of American-made vehicles on the list of the longest-lasting vehicles. ““The majority of the longest-lasting SUVs and pickups are American vehicles from these brands, which helps contribute to their above-average ranking on this list,” says Karl Brauer of iSeeCars.

Are Ford trucks reliable?

The 2017 and 2018 Ford F-150 both get just a 1/5 for reliability. It may be best to look at some of the more reliable models, like the 2020 Ford F-150.

All in all, Ford makes decent pickup trucks that last a relatively long time. Perhaps the best way to make sure that your Ford pickup truck will last a long time is to maintain your pickup truck. Stay on top of regular truck maintenance and take your truck in whenever you have a problem to make sure that your truck lasts as long as possible.
