Ford Gets Snubbed for 2026 Best Truck Brand Award
Sorry, the Ford F-150 and Maverick can’t depend on their popularity to be the best. A rival American truck manufacturer has accelerated past Ford to claim the 2026 Best Truck Brand for itself. But its options feel a bit limited.
Ford misses out on the 2026 Best Truck Brand award
Sure, the Ford F-150 is the best-selling truck, and it has been for over 40 years. However, that doesn’t mean that critics think it’s the best or that it earns the most awards.
According to U.S.News, Ram wins the 2026 Best Truck Brand award. You aren’t alone if this comes as a bit of a surprise. But the award is based on value, safety, convenience, reliability, space, and tech.
The Ram 1500 impresses critics with a luxurious cabin and athletic driving performance. It has tons of trim levels to consider, from a no frills work truck to ultra lavish amenities. Plus, it offers tons of value.
However, aside from the full-size truck, Ram only has Heavy-Duty options. Meanwhile, Ford offers the full-size F-150, HD trucks, the mid-size Ranger, the compact Maverick, and the fully electric F-150 Lightning.
Sure, Ram has a mild hybrid engine. But the Toyota Tundra and F-150 both have hybrid powertrains. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 still has a diesel engine. Also, the Ram REV is expected sometime in 2026, but hasn’t been put to the test.
While I’m still ranting about trucks, I need to point out that the Tacoma has a work trim with two doors and no rear seat! The Ram 1500 is pretty nice, fun, and comfortable, but other brands offer more.
