[Watch] Florida Man Plows 2023 Corvette Stingray Convertible Into Palmetto Bay Family’s Home at Ramming Speed
The sound didn’t register as a car accident at first. It landed closer to an explosion. On Christmas Eve, a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible tore off Southwest 174th Street in Palmetto Bay, Florida. You could hear the near-500 horsepower coming down the road. It crossed a front yard, slammed into a fence, a boat, its trailer, and the side of a family’s home at full speed.
Ring camera footage and the homeowner’s account filled in the gaps. The family moved into the home roughly six months ago. Genavieve Paige Villar said her kids had been outside drawing with chalk just minutes earlier.
By the time the Corvette left the roadway, the family was inside. Miraculously, it seems no one was hurt.
The Corvette crash happened in the early evening, when neighborhood traffic is usually slow and predictable
Instead, the Corvette plowed through the yard, stopping only after striking the boat and the house.
Villar told Local 10 News that the noise sent the family running outside to assess the damage.
The driver was already out of the car, walking to the door to ring the bell. In the footage, the driver offers no explanation of what happened, only concern for the family.
Police responded, a report was filed, and the driver received a citation. Authorities have not reported any injuries.
Villar said the incident rattled their sense of safety, especially given the timing. Christmas Eve tends to come with lights, bikes, kids outside, and lowered guardrails. Not out-of-control cars.
Based on the footage shared on YouTube, I ran the plate through GoodCar, which confirmed the Corvette’s model year.
