No, that title is not a typo. Garrett Ryan Sulli of Florida reportedly struck 13 separate vehicles between 6:30 a.m. and 11:50 a.m. Saturday morning, February 14th, on I-95 in Virginia. His Chevrolet Colorado is in rough shape but appears to still be driving. I have so many questions.
First off, where was he going? Police report the 34-year-old is a Florida resident but listed him as currently homeless. During his five hours of mayhem, Sulli only covered 80 miles. So was he ramming vehicles, getting off the highway, looping around, and doing it again?
Secondly, was it his truck or stolen? The vehicle was a late-model Colorado with Florida plates (IYX 005) and a “Union Pride” bumper sticker. By the time Sulli struck the 13th vehicle, his bumper was caved in, and his grill long gone.
Thirdly, how did it take police five hours to find and stop the truck? Was he hiding out between these crashes? Was he targeting specific vehicles?
Fourth and finally: Did Sulli miss any Valentine’s Day plans after his arrest around noon on February 14th? Or was it frustration over being single on the holiday that inspired him to ram every car in sight? Was he trying to get to 14 crashes in honor of the day?
If you know the answer to any of these questions or witnessed any of Sulli’s 13 crashes, the Virginia State Police would love to hear from you at (804) 750-8758 or questions@vsp.virginia.gov
