Who doesn’t love a “Florida man” story? Something from the silly arrest stories volume always seems to grab a laugh. Well, there’s one person in this Florida man story who likely isn’t laughing. It’s Brett Waronicki, a recent DUI arrest at a seemingly standard traffic stop. But police uncovered quite a scandal when Waronicki turned out to be a circuit judge.

Florida man and Circuit Judge Brett Waronicki found himself in handcuffs for a DUI and drug paraphernalia charges

Police in Martin County pulled over a Ford F-150 on Northwest Jensen Beach Boulevard near Jensen Beach, Florida. The driver complied, pulling over along with the F-150’s two passengers. It was Brett M. Waronicki, a 46-year-old Florida man and a person of interest for local law enforcement.

Incidentally, this traffic stop was no accident. Police intended to pull Waronicki over after weeks of investigation. See, Waronicki was reportedly “involved in drug activity” at a Jensen Beach bar. A couple of days ago, the investigation reached a climax when authorities with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office pulled the Florida man over in his F-150. But here’s the kicker: Waronicki is a circuit judge.

During the course of the traffic stop, the authorities concluded that Waronicki was driving under the influence (DUI). It’s a serious charge by itself. But that wasn’t the extent of the man’s wrongdoings. Police also charged the Florida circuit judge with drug paraphernalia charges, according to TC Palm.

Of course, the Florida man, who has been practicing law in one way or another for over 20 years, wasn’t alone in the full-size pickup truck. Wendy Ditroia, 43, and Christopher Greenman, 36, were also in the truck.

Police charged both of the passengers with cocaine possession, as well as an additional drug paraphernalia charge for Greenman. The paraphernalia charges weren’t any more specific than that. However, the charge typically refers to “any product, equipment, or material,” used to produce or abuse a controlled substance, per O’Mara Law Group.
