Ever wonder why your Driver’s Ed teacher said “Respect semis on the highway?” Big blind spots, heavy loads, drivers hustling for miles. But here’s the thing: one of those big rigs sideswiped a Ferrari F40 on I-15 and kept right on rolling. Southbound, late Saturday night, Utah’s scenic corridor turned into a demolition derby.

The owner, who goes by Supercar Ron on Instagram described the carnage. “At 9:58 pm, Saturday June 28, southbound on I-15 near 1600 North on the border of Orem and Lindon, my Ferrari F40 was sideswiped by a semi truck pulling a large tanker.”

He didn’t sugarcoat what went down. “The semi truck was a darker color, seemed newer, and very obviously knew that he had side swiped me.”

He was busy saving his life while the semi kept rolling. “Unfortunately, due to the damage to the vehicle and the fact that the semi-truck essentially performed a PIT maneuver on me, I was focused on controlling the car and staying alive.”

Help needed to find Ferrari F40 hit-and-run driver

Now here’s the kicker. Ron didn’t get a license plate. Or even a company logo. Just a busted-up Ferrari F40 in the breakdown and a truck driver disappearing into the night.

Ron’s plea is direct: “We need help tracking this person down. Hit and run drivers need to be held responsible.” He knows it’s a long shot but he’s putting out the call.

“If you know who this could be or were in the area southbound I-15 around 10 pm near north Orem or Lindon and have dash cam footage, please let me know if you have any video.”

He even sweetened the deal. “Reward offered if we can find who did this.” Ron’s looking at hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to a car that could be worth $3 million. He may be offering a sizable reward.

We share the roads with semis every day. Usually, it’s uneventful. But sometimes, a driver decides to disappear after turning a classic Ferrari into scrap metal. Keep your dash cams rolling. Keep your eyes peeled.
