Washington driver gets ejected and pulls a gun on witness

Things got chaotic in King County, Washington, as a man flipped his car around at 3:15 AM on Interstate 5. The driver was ejected and knocked out. He was lying on the pavement when a bystander stopped to check on him.

However, as the man regained consciousness, he pulled a gun on the witness. Then he fled the scene on foot, leaving police officers confused.

Washington State Police Trooper Karmeron Watts shares, “The ejected male regained consciousness and pulled a firearm on a bystander who tried to check on him and fled the area.”

According to My Northwest, a Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) camera caught police cars arriving on scene. The video shows officers approaching the vehicle with rifles pointed at the car.

They quickly realized the vehicle was empty. Officers received an anonymous tip regarding the suspect’s location. Then they found him in the woods, in need of emergency care due to his injuries consistent with the crash. The man was transported to the hospital.

It turns out that the suspect had a few outstanding warrants, which may have prompted him to run. He was booked into custody after being medically cleared. No other injuries were reported, but I-5 was closed, snarling traffic for hours.
