Drunk Virginia truck driver hits drunk underage BMW driver

Police officers responded to reports of reckless driving around 11:40 PM near Clemans Mill Road and Leeland Road. Witnesses share that they saw a white pickup truck doing donuts in the middle of the road.

As officers arrived, they spotted a BMW stopped in the road. It looks like the truck hit the car. According to Daily Voice, the driver of the pickup lost control and spun into the other car.

The BMW driver is identified as 20-year-old Trenton Phillips and displayed signs of intoxication. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

Then the driver of the pickup is identified as 23-year-old Brandon Parlett. He also displayed signs of intoxication and failed sobriety tests. Officers quickly took him into custody. In this rare double DUI arrest, it was Parlett’s second drunk driving charge in the past five years.

Phillips faces charges for driving under the influence while underage, underage possession of alcohol, and driving on a revoked registration. Parlett faces charges for driving under the influence and reckless driving.

I wish I knew the blood alcohol content level for the men. I’m guessing that they were over the 0.08% legal limit. You have to be pretty drunk to do donuts in the middle of the road during the night. Maybe the BMW driver didn’t see the truck.
