Drunk New York man gets 24 traffic tickets in stolen SUV
A drunk man in New York is pretty good at multitasking because he broke multiple laws during one trip. He was driving erratically in a stolen SUV and briefly led a police chase. He managed to rack up 24 traffic tickets and more on his rap sheet.

A 54-year-old Carthage man led a police chase in Lowville, New York before being apprehended and slapped with 24 traffic tickets among a long list of charges.
The Lewis County Sheriff’s Department shared that the suspect identified as Micheal Burke Jr. allegedly stole a black SUV from a car dealership in North Carolina. Then he managed to make it all the way up to New York in the stolen SUV.
Police officers responded to reports of a man driving recklessly and erratically through Lowville with North Carolina tags.
When they spotted Burke, he hit several vehicles, mailboxes, and a pedestrian crossing sign. The sheriff’s office also received reports of a hit-and-run crash.
As officers tried to initiate a traffic stop, Burke fled the scene, leading a brief chase. According to WRIC, he finally stopped on State Route 812.
Police officers quickly apprehended him and piled on the charges. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree unlawful fleeing of a police officer, and reckless driving.
Burke failed a field sobriety test. He had a .21 blood alcohol content which is well above the legal limit of 0.08%. Additional charges are pending.
