This is a good reminder to confirm what you’re seeing before you call 911. A police department received multiple calls from commuters about a stray dog.

Officers narrowed down the location and decided the stray was at Slack Hill and Chesterfield Road. They even suspected it was a “small, bully type dog.” So they drove out to investigate.

Officers were spruced to find a toy reindeer instead.

Was it a Christmas decoration? Was it a large toy version of “Sven” from Frozen? That’s not entirely clear.

The police department later joked that Santa’s helper was “resting after a test flight.” So what did officers do? They had some “stern words about being seen in the middle of November,” then they left “the fella to his break.”
