Ohio Man Crashes SUV in Ditch and Tells Police About Slamming Eight Beers
Sure, I’m no legal expert. But it’s probably not the best idea to tell the police about drinking eight beers before driving. However, an Ohio man did exactly that after crashing an SUV into a ditch. Then, officers found that the truth of the situation was actually much worse.
Ohio man crashes SUV in ditch and tells police about having eight beers
A police officer in Ohio came across a Ford Explorer that was sitting in a ditch near Marks Road. As the officer approached the SUV, he found the driver inside. The suspect claimed he didn’t need medical attention; he admitted to having eight beers earlier.
Then he claimed he was driving to his estranged wife’s house to get medication for his dog. Next, he shared that he wasn’t driving to her home. Investigators found that she has a protection order against him.
The suspect failed sobriety field tests and was arrested. But the Medina County Jail refused to take him as he registered about four times over the 0.08% legal limit for intoxication during a breathalyzer test.
According to Cleveland, he was transported to the Brunswick Cleveland Clinic emergency room to gain medical clearance. The name of the man hasn’t been released.
However, he faces charges for operating a motor vehicle impaired and failure to maintain reasonable control. The suspect’s name hasn’t been released.
It sounds like the dog that may or may not need medication is suffering as a result of the couple’s divorce. Hopefully, the ex-wife can care for it while the man is in jail.
