The CrossPoint Community Church was in the middle of a livestream sermon when chaos erupted in Wayne, Michigan. Suddenly, viewers could see members of the church scrambling for their lives.
But they couldn’t see what was happening off camera, as a man drove into the church with his truck and jumped out with a rifle.
A church deacon saw the man heading to the doors of the church and hit him with his Ford F-150. Despite being run over, the man shot one security guard in the leg. Then another security guard fatally shot the attacker.
According to Yahoo, Wayne police officers shared that the 31-year-old suspect wasn’t a member of the church. His motive was unclear and his name hasn’t been released. I do not have an update on the condition of the guard who was shot.
However, there were no other injuries thanks to their quick action. They saved the lives of the members attending a special vacation Bible school service.
While I’ve been to Waffle House locations with security guards, I’ve never attended a church service with a security team. Reportedly, the church added a security team in response to violence that has been occurring in other parts of the country.
