Waffle House is plugging into the EV era. The diner chain has partnered with bp pulse to install ultrafast chargers at locations across the Southeast and Sunbelt. That means drivers in states like Georgia, Texas, and Florida will soon be able to charge up while they chow down.

Each site will get six 400kW DC fast chargers

bp pulse will include both CCS and NACS connectors to fit most EVs on the road. The first units are scheduled to go live in 2026.

A Tesla Model Y can go from 10 to 80 percent range in about 20 minutes using a 400kW charger. That gives drivers just enough time to order waffles, coffee, and maybe a side of bacon.

bp pulse says it wants to put chargers where drivers actually want to stop. The company already built charging hubs with Hertz near airports and continues to add stations at familiar names like TravelCenters of America and Thorntons.

Waffle House says it sees EV drivers as part of its next wave of customers. Its 24/7 locations already serve travelers looking for something quick and reliable.

This partnership gives EV drivers more options in a region that’s still building out charging infrastructure

It also helps normalize charging as part of everyday stops. If you can get a full battery and a plate of hashbrowns in the same visit, that’s a win.
