I can’t be mad at Chevrolet for keeping things fresh with a new anthem. However, I can judge Chevy trucks for dropping the ‘like a ROCK’ song. Every time you heard that classic, you knew it was related to hard-working pickup trucks.

Chevy trucks get a new anthem

Chevrolet showed up at the Country Music Awards (CMA) in a big way. Country music fans love trucks more than most, so it set the perfect stage to debut the new anthem for Chevy trucks

The new theme is, “Maybe, you got it too.” It’s a warm invitation to hard-working people from all walks of life. A new 60-second ad provides recognition to a diverse group of truck drivers or Chevy people.

It’s meant to reflect the core values of the brand, such as dependability, integrity, ambition, and community. I enjoy this official invitation for all drivers with the Chevy spirit.

However, will this make as much of an impact as “like a ROCK” ? Bob Segar sang that classic song that was used to market Chevy trucks from 1991 to 2004. Unfortunately, the licensing agreement between General Motors and Bob Seger to use the song ended in 2023.

Unfortunately, Chevy was forced to try and come up with something more iconic. In 2005, Chevy started using ‘Our Country. Our Truck’ in 2005. This didn’t stand out as something memorable in my mind.

Then ‘Chevy Runs Deep’ was used from 2010 to 2013. From 2013 to 2023, Chevy used ‘Find New Roads’. After that, we got the ‘Together let’s drive’ anthem. That’s also pretty inclusive. However, the new anthem could easily be overshadowed by Bob Seger’s song, like the rest.
