Chatty pup discovers furry little engine issue in owner’s Honda Civic
Dogs know how to get their points across. Your canine companion likely knows that barking incessantly is an effective way to get your attention. Incidentally, a chatty puppy wanted to let its owner know that there was something very wrong with a Honda Civic. However, this wasn’t your typical engine issue. No, this was a furry little stowaway in dire need of help.
A little puppy wouldn’t ‘stop whining at 6:00 a.m.’ until its owner found a little feline engine issue in their Honda Civic
Savannah, who goes by “coastal.cowgirl” on TikTok, couldn’t silence her normally chill puppy. The little dog was barking continuously at 6:00 a.m., an out-of-character behavior. Savannah’s dog led her to her fourth-generation Honda Civic, a gray sedan with fogged headlamps.
Savannah enlisted help to pop the parked Honda Civic’s hood. The man raised the Civic’s hood, revealing the compact car’s four-cylinder heart. Nothing out of the ordinary there. “We couldn’t find anything. But he wouldn’t stop whining,” Savannah said. However, the engine bay did have one issue: a furry little stowaway.
The duo decided to turn a hose on the compartment. According to Savannah’s TikTok coverage of the event, a little cat dropped out of the engine compartment and ran for cover. The kitten, a young black cat, sought refuge behind an air conditioning unit. Needless to say, we’re glad a hidden cat was such an easy remedy as far as engine issues go.
Better yet, Savannah’s friend Cody expressed interest in adopting the little aspiring mechanic. She put together a care package full of cat food and toys and sent the kitten off to live with its new owner.
It’s not unusual for animals to seek refuge in engine compartments. Rodents, and yes, even cats, will seek warmth and shelter in the accessible spaces of vehicles. This includes crawling up into an engine compartment.
If your vehicle is susceptible to critters, protect them and your ride by investing in a car cover. Also, don’t leave food in your vehicle or leave it sitting for too long without moving. Check out the social media video of the hidden cat below!
