Car wrecks are always unfortunate. Sometimes, they only cause vehicle damage, but there are also several instances where they incite bodily harm. Sadly, numerous car accidents stem from street racing. This happened recently in Michigan on a busy road, and now several people are in the hospital with serious injuries.

Car wrecks caused by street racing are on the rise

According to WLNS, there were two drivers racing along MLK Jr. Blvd in Lansing, Michigan, on the night of April 24th. They were going southbound when another driver made a justified turn onto the Boulevard. Sadly, both street racers crashed into the other vehicle. This caused multiple car wrecks as two different vehicles also crashed. Unfortunately, both street racers were then ejected from their respective cars. Regarding injuries, these two were in critical condition.

As with many car wrecks, the police shut down the roads near the crash to conduct a thorough investigation and then reopened them the following morning. The authorities are not releasing the names of the victims, but the report notes that there was at least one child present. In addition to the street racers, the report states that 11 people were involved in the multi-car crash.

As of recent reporting, no arrests have been made following the car wrecks. Of course, this makes sense, as both street racers were in critical condition. Street racing is a significant threat to road safety and, as mentioned, causes far too many accidents. People who notice street racing should report it to local law enforcement immediately.
