Things were disrupted around 3:00 AM as residents complained about a continuously honking truck horn. Police officers in Westlake, Ohio, went to the area of Donna Drive to investigate.
But they found a quiet, snow-covered pickup. Then, more reports of the honking vehicle came in around 4:15. This time, when officers arrived, the snow-covered vehicle was blaring its horn.
They began clearing off the snow and noticed a man inside. The driver passed out with his head on the wheel, causing the horn to go off.
It took the officers about a minute to wake the man up, almost prompting an emergency response. The man thought he was in North Olmsted, planning to drive through traffic to his mother’s house in West Lake.
According to Cleveland, an open container of alcohol fell out of the GMC when the driver opened the door. He faces charges for having physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated. However, he refused to take sobriety field tests and a breath test.
I would like to know his blood alcohol content level. But I’m willing to bet it was over the 0.08 legal limit. You have to be passed out pretty hard to ignore the constant beeping of a truck horn.
Also, imagine how much worse things could have been if he had tried to drive across town to his mom’s house.
