Here are all the automakers with the best and longest basic warranty coverage on the market
A new or late-model car could be one of the most expensive things you ever buy. Make no mention of the parts and systems that break on that increasingly expensive new car purchase.
Fortunately, your new or near-new car likely comes with a basic or limited warranty. But, despite efforts to keep competition tight among rivals, not every automaker’s coverage is the same. These nine automakers, however, outshine the rest with peace of mind.
Five of these nine automakers offer limited warranty coverage out to five years or 60,000 miles
Every automaker offers different types of warranties, from basic, limited coverage to powertrain, EV battery, and corrosion coverage. But if it’s the longest possible basic coverage period you’re looking for, five automakers take the cake.
Hyundai, Genesis, Kia, and Mitsubishi all offer five-year, 60,000-mile protection. But they’re not alone. As odd as it might sound, Jaguar offers the same basic warranty period.
Lincoln, Lexus, Rivian, and Tesla all offer shorter periods, covering owners for four years or 50,000 miles, whichever criterion is met first.

Of course, these automakers aren’t alone. Plenty of other brands offer basic or limited warranty coverage to match Lincoln’s four-year, 50,000-mile coverage. Even posh manufacturers like Maserati and Land Rover will match that coverage.
However, you won’t get any complimentary scheduled maintenance with Maserati, Land Rover, or other automakers with similar limited warranty parameters.
Other brands, like Volkswagen, will offer shorter complimentary maintenance periods, like two-year, 20,000-mile coverage. Jaguar, on the other hand, will cover the scheduled maintenance for five years or 60,000 miles.
