Peter Corn

Peter Corn joined MotorBiscuit as an Autos Writer in 2020 and brings his quippiest Southern drawl to our table. Having, in his words, “helped” rebuild his dad’s 1959 MGA as a small child, Peter grew up loving vintage cars and trucks, adding motorcycles and all things 4×4 as he went.

Peter earned a Bachelor of Archeology and Creative Writing from the University of Alabama and has since melded his love of driving with storytelling. His voice, full of pleasantries and witticisms, can be enjoyed in The Gentleman Racer, The Vintagent, Gear Patrol, Iron & Air Magazine, and Classic Car Club Magazine.

Peter is a co-founder of both The Colloquial Magazine and The Fire Escape, the official podcast of The Colloquial. In an effort to increase his abilities in “ramping anything with wheels,” Peter has taken track training from Classic Car Club Manhattan and attended Rally School at Monticello Motor Club, where he was coached by eight-time Performance Rally motorsport champion Chris Duplessis.

On a lucky day, we get to hear Peter tell the story of his first car, a jewel of a 1958 Ford Fairlane, into which he dumped more time and money than made sense, but he has no regrets.

The 2021 Happier Camper Goes After Airstream With Mobile Home Office

The new Airstream Flying Cloud set a high standard in the pandemic camper boom by offering a dedicated work from “home” office in the trailer. Although Airstream will always be an icon, the barrier to entry is too high for most people to get one. However, there is another option out of California, the new …

Petaluma, CA Just Outlawed New Gas Stations Making Room For EV Chargers

Electric vehicles are coming, and there is nothing any can do to stop them even if they wanted to – for some reason. As the planet continues to suffer under the weight of carbon emissions, the EV takes a stronger hold on the automotive market. California already committed to outlaw the sale of new gas-powered …

Why Are Recall Announcements Being Delayed by Automakers?

Recalls are a black mark on any manufacturer’s name, but it’s not the end of the world. It happens to every manufacturer. However, some models might catch a few more than others, like the Ford Explorer. It stands to reason that manufacturers would want their bad news to be as quiet and harmless to the …

Dad’s $3.4M Pagani Huayra Got Obliterated by His 17-Year-Old YouTuber Son

Teenagers get into all sorts of trouble. Do you remember when you used to sneak out, break curfew, or smash your dad’s $3.4 million hypercar? Oh man, Highschool, am I right? Well, ok, most of us didn’t have multimillion-dollar hypercars around to total when we were 17-years-old, but this YoutTube person did, and his Dad’s …
Honda submits patent application for autonomous motorcycle drone

Honda Is Making a Futuristic Drone That flies Out of Your Bike

Drones used to be these hyper futuristic devices that felt more like the Marvel Cinematic Universe than they felt real. These days drones are nearly as ubiquitous as microwaves. They deliver stuff, photograph, and film, and even put on spectacular light shows. The dirtbike and dual-sport worlds have really taken a shine to the films …

It Is Basically Impossible to Total a McLaren F1

Car wrecks are an unfortunately common thing here in the U.S., and we can’t seem to figure out how to stop them. As long as people are safe and the car is insured, life moves on. However, what about the well-heeled among us who total limited supercars that can’t be replaced, and the damages are …

Don’t Buy a Dodge Charger If You Live In the Detroit Area – and want to Keep It

Car theft is unbelievably wack. Modern cars are generally more secure than the old dogs, but car theft still seems to plague many places worldwide and our country. People have even taken to stealing catalytic converters. What is so interesting is that certain cars, trucks, and motorcycles get stolen far more often than others, and …
BMW R 1200 GS Adventure in dark green and silver

20,963 BMW R 1200 GS and Others Are Being Recalled Due to Leaking Fuel

Dual-sport bikes are some of the most capable vehicles on the market, period. By definition, they are tough, go-anywhere machines that have become the apple of many riders’ eyes these days. The segment is getting more and more popular, from small and simple dual-sports to the massive and tech-heavy BMW GS bikes. Well, you might …
Brand New silver Kia K8 parked next to a building

The New Kia K8 is Luxurious, Forbidden Fruit

Kia giveth and Kia taketh away. I’m not sure anyone is actually upset by the loss of the K7 or, here in the states, the Kia Cadenza. However, as more consumers start to drop their BMWs and Lexus sedans for increasingly luxurious Kia and Hyundai SUVs, maybe we should be mourning the fact that we …

The Shelby Cobra and Chili’s Have the Same Daddy

The old legend of King Midas is still widely known and referenced to this day. In case you didn’t know, King Midas was a Phrygian King that was said to have the ability to turn whatever he touched to gold. While, of course, this is not literally possible, there are people in our own world …
Harley Davidson supercharger patent drawing

Harley-Davidson Is Working on a Bolt-On Supercharger For V-Twins

If the Jeep Wrangler is the King of the aftermarket in the 4×4 world, then Harley-Davidson is definitely the King in the motorcycle world. Harley peeps love to dress their big V-twins to the nines. Although Harley-Davidson does offer bolt-on big-bore kits and pistons and such, most Harley aftermarket stuff tends toward vanity, until now. …
2021 Chevrolet Silverado Multi-Flex Tailgate with the truck parked in front of a house

The Real Reason the 2021 Chevy Silverado Deserves More Respect

Pickup trucks in America compete in a wildly popular segment. Although this segment is also highly competitive, many customers are loyal to their preferred truck maker. Even if the next Ford F-150 isn’t great, many people will still buy them because they are Ford people and always have been. This is a fascinating thing that …
lime-green Ram TRX getting pulled off the trail after a break down

Influencer Destroyed His 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Instead of Waiting For a Tow

Nothing sucks more than having car trouble deep in the rough track. Towing already sucks, but when you are way out in it, getting towed takes exponentially longer and will usually cost far more. Unless you have a buddy with a Jeep Wrangler nearby, your fun outing just became quite a tedious and expensive adventure. …

1-Story Camper Vans Are So 2020 – In 2021 We Do 2-Story Campers

Remember way back in 2020 when everything was crazy, and people were rushing to buy RVs to escape the caustic political, health, environmental, or any other number of stressful world events… Oh, that’s still going on. Right. Well, even if 2021 is starting a lot like 2020, this new double-decker camper van will at least …
Custom Pontiac Trans-Am Firebird built for the post apocalyptic world

Mutant Pontiac Trans-Am Is Ready to Whip Any Apocalypse You Can Throw at It

Full disclosure; the Trans-Am Firebird is one of my all-time favorite cars. This will not be unbiased, and I make no guarantee that this will be overly factual. It will, however, talk about an incredibly rad muscle car conversion so cool that James Dean and The Fonz together might be nervous to try this bird …
