E-Bike Maker Sondors Has a $5000 Electric Motorcycle

As e-bikes grow in popularity, they’re starting to edge into the territory and price category of cheap urban-focused motorcycles. In fact, a few motorcycle companies, including Triumph and Ducati, have branched out to e-bikes to reach more customers. But the reverse is also possible, as e-bike maker Sondors has demonstrated with its Metacycle electric motorcycle. …
The vortex generators on a white 2018 Honda Civic Type R

Do Vortex Generators Actually Help Road Cars?

Car spoilers have a purpose besides being flashy accessories. Although they’re technically not wings, both they and spoilers use the air rushing around cars to reduce lift. However, they’re not the only aerodynamic aide available to road cars. Some models, like the Honda Civic Type R, are starting to feature vortex generators as well. But …
The intake manifold, throttle body, and throttle cable of a 1999 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Your Throttle Cable Could Use an Adjustment

Getting an internal-combustion engine up and running requires a lot of moving parts. And without proper maintenance, the entire process can grind (sometimes literally) to a halt. Hence why fuel injectors sometimes need cleaning and spark plugs need changing, and so on. But some maintenance items need attention even if the part in question isn’t …

Let Doug DeMuro Show You How Basic the Original Dodge Viper RT/10 Was

The original Shelby Cobra still holds a special place in American automotive fandom and history. Little wonder, then, that another American automaker, Dodge, would want to recreate it. That was the original design brief for the first-gen Dodge Viper RT/10. And while some later Vipers are more ‘luxurious,’ in his latest video, Doug DeMuro shows …
A modified yellow Coca-Cola-liveried 1980 Piaggio Ape

The Piaggio Ape Is a 3-Wheeled Vespa Mini Truck

Although Vespa scooters are designed around urban commuting, they’re more capable than some may realize. Classic models even compete in off-road rallies from time to time. However, given that they’re scooters, Vespas aren’t necessarily the most practical choice when it comes to hauling cargo. At least, most Vespas aren’t; the Piaggio Ape, aka the Vespa …
A low-angle shot of the 2020 Honda Civic Type R's wing

A Car Spoiler Is Not the Same Thing as a Wing

Spoilers, whether factory equipment or aftermarket accessories are usually visual shorthand for a performance-oriented car. Or at least a vehicle pretending to be one. Given their shape, car spoilers are understandably often referred to as wings. However, although these terms are often used interchangeably, they’re not synonymous. Wings don’t help cars fly—they help them not …

Cars and Bids Bargain of the Week: 1997 E39 BMW 540i

Used BMWs’ affordable prices can be tempting, but many potential buyers worry about how reliable these German luxury cars truly are. Bring a Trailer Bargain of the Week: 2005 Noble M400

Building a kit car can be a lot of fun, but not everyone has the time or mechanical confidence to do it. Or the funds to pay someone to do it for them. Luckily, used pre-built examples sometimes pop up on auction sites. Meaning, you can theoretically get a Factory Five Mk4 ‘Cobra’ for less …

Can the 2021 Hyundai Sonata N Line Out-Race the Acura TLX?

A purple 2021 Acura TLX Advance Package

Is the 2021 Acura TLX Faster than the Honda Accord?

While the 2021 TLX isn’t quite as sharp as Acura fans may want, it’s still a good sports sedan. But some might be wondering if it’s worth the upcharge over the Honda Accord. Especially since the 2.0T packs a version of the Civic Type R’s engine. So, can the Accord hang with the TLX? YouTube …

Can Nokian’s New All-Season Tire Really Last for 80,000 Miles?

Regularly rotating and changing your car’s tires are important parts of your maintenance schedule. But even if you’re not buying the most expensive car tires, quality ones don’t come cheap. So, naturally, most people want to make sure they’re getting their money’s worth when it comes to longevity. Especially if they’re buying all-seasons, even though …

The Mitsubishi Pajero Mini Is a Kei-Sized Suzuki Jimny Alternative

As endearing as the latest Suzuki Jimny is, it’s not coming to the US anytime soon. But early models are old enough to import. And although the Consumer Reports scandal curtailed sales, Suzuki did sell a version of the Jimny, the Samurai, in the US. But, if you’re looking for a compact JDM off-road SUV, …
The black-and-silver 2021 Cadillac eVTOL flying car concept

Cadillac’s New Concept Will Only Fly on a Wing and a Prayer

GM virtually showed off its upcoming vehicles and concept cars at this year’s CES. And sprinkled among the EVs were several new projects from Cadillac. Some were essentially autonomous pods, but there was one more thing. It’s the Cadillac eVTOL concept, and it’s a flying ‘car.’ But it won’t be getting off the ground anytime …

The 2021 Porsche 718 Boxster 25 Is a Blast From the Past

And 2021 marks the roadster’s 25th anniversary. So, to celebrate, Porsche is giving the 718 Boxster a major throwback with the …
