Nothing makes Americans happier than Japanese SUVs
Drivers across America have spoken, and it’s nothing but good news for Japanese SUVs. Based on a survey, the SUVs with the highest rates of customer satisfaction are by Subaru, Mazda, and Toyota. American brands are struggling in comparison.
Japanese SUVS have the highest rate of customer satisfaction
According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ASCI) Japanese SUVs are making American drivers extremely happy. Subaru is in first place with an ACSI score of 85, and has improved about 2% compared to 2024.
Then Mazda lands in second place with a score of 82. The brand is up one point over 2024. Also, Toyota came in third place with a score of 82. It dropped one point this year. Further down the list, Ram can be found in 16th place with a score of 69. It has a 10% drop over 2024.
The results are based on surveys conducted over a 12-month period, ending in June. The automotive brands and ranked based on a 100-point scale.
Driver performance, including handling, braking, steering, and overall driveability is one of the highest ranking categories. The lowest scoring categories include expected future resale or trade-in value and distance driven on a full charge or tank of gas.
While hybrid and EV sales continue to grow, satisfaction with these types of powertrains is on the decline. Satisfaction with internal combustion engines remains steady. As car prices continue to increase, luxury vehicle owners are clearly becoming more sensitive.
Subaru is the best ranking brand because of its messaging related to safety and dependability.
